ENGLAND CHAMPIONSHIP BETTING PREVIEWS 25/08/2018

Aston Villa v Reading

In their last match at home on Wednesday at Villa park, Aston Villa narrowly escaped their first defeat of the season against Brentford thanks to  Kodija late goal which secured them a draw. The home side is eager to return to winning ways and a win against a weaker reading could see them climb up to the second place in the Championship standing. Reading on the other side are yet to record their first win in this season which is another reason that a home win is highly viable.

PREDICTION: ASTON VILLA TO WIN

Blackburn Rovers v Brentford

From their 1-0 win over Hull, Blackburn came behind from two goals down to draw with Reading in the midweek game. Similarly, Brentford conceded two goals after leading for half an hour against Aston Villa suggesting that both teams have attacking minded style of play. Blackburn playing at home face a difficult task against an in-form Brentford side that could as well surprise the home team were it that they did not concede in the dying minutes of the game last time. A draw could be the eventual outcome of the game but both teams have offensive play which means that there could be a couple of goals.

PREDICTION: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

Bolton Wanderers v Sheffield United

Bolton welcome Sheffield united at Macron Stadium in what many expect to be an entertaining clash. The home side recorded their third winning of the campaign by beating Birmingham while maintaining a clean sheet in that game. Will Buckley came on as a substitute and scored the only game against Birmingham and is expected to be in full contention against Sheffield who are keen to maintain their good form after losing two opening games. A close encounter is on the line between Bolton and Sheffield with each team needing a point to continue their good display.

PREDICTION: BOLTON OR DRAW

Derby County v Preston North End

Derby  County bounced off from theirn2-1 loss to Millwall with the team beating Ipswich Town at home recording their first win under new manager Lampard. The home win indeed should provide a boost of confidence against Preston who are keen to end their streak of winless runs. Tom Lawrence is the man to watch in the home team and should score and spoil the visitors perseverance. Over the years Derby County have turned their Pride Park Stadium as a fortress which make it a home win despite the opposition.

PREDICTION: DERBY COUNTY TO WIN

Norwich City v Leeds United

Norwich will be keen to build on their 2-0 win over Preston in midweek game against flying Leeds United. Regardless of their hard earned win, Norwich have been defensively week at the back with little creativity upfront and seeing that they face league leaders Leeds there is no point that the Leeds will not score against them. Leeds will ultimately stick to their attacking style of play and I fancy the leaders to win against a weaker Norwich side.

PREDICTION: LEEDS TO WIN OR DRAW

Queens Park Rangers v Wigan Athletic

QPR have endured their worst campaign such that they have four winless streaks in the Championship having conceded 10 goals in back to back defeats. Their opponents in form of Wigan saw off relegated Stoke City at home recording an emphatic 3-0 away win. If the home side is to move out of relegation, they need to reorganiuse their defense in a way that is out of place in this campaign. With the guests being on top of their game, Wigan might record their second away win against a lowly team in the Championship and capitalize on their situation.

PREDICTION: WIGAN TO WIN OR DRAW

Sheffield Wednesday v Ipswich Town

Sheffield Wednesday win over Millwall in midweek game ended their 3 winless run in the Championship and they will be keen to give their fans a second home again and escape the relegation battle. Their opponents, Ipswich Town are yet to record a win in the new season and have been struggling in front of goal. In their last meeting, Ipswich Town defeated Sheffield which means that the hosts are hungry for revenge against a struggling team.

PREDICTION: SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY TO WIN

Stoke City v Hull City

Stoke City are yet to record their first win of the season when they meet Hull City at Bet365 Stadium. The home side boasts of high profile players to choose from but have not yet found their best form as they seek to bounce off from humiliating 3-0 defeat at home to Wigan. Their opponents Hull City recorded their first away win over Rotherham in a pulsating 3-2 win and I don’t expect they will outclass Stoke City again at home. The home side wants to win this fixture more than Hull City to end their bad form. Taking everything into account, there is big value in backing a home side to win or draw with some goals.

PREDICTION: STOKE CITY TO WIN OR DRAW

Swansea City v Bristol City

The Welsh outfit Swansea will host Bristol City at Liberty Stadium with the home side extending their unbeaten streak to four games against Leeds in midweek action. On the other side, Bristol City recorded a 3-0 away win over QPR  in midweek which means that they are definitely capable of making life difficult for Swansea City. In their last nine meetings, both sides recorded under 2.5 goals and I fancy to place a big value on a draw in this clash.

PREDICTION: SWANSEA OR DRAW

Nottingham Forest v Birmingham City

The home side, Nottingham is currently unbeaten in this season scoring a late injury goal to equalize 2-2 against Wigan. The home side is keen on maintaining their record and beating teams like Birmingham who have been struggling upfront is likely the most outcome. The guests’ failed to score any goal in their previous four matches and I think the guests are not in contention to even secure a draw in this encounter.

PREDICTION: NOTTINGHAM TO WIN

Rotherham United v Millwall

Both teams look to make amends from midweek defeats which make it an entertaining encounter on Sunday. The home side struggles at the back giving the reason to believe that a home win should be considered. Millwall suffered their first defeat of the season away to Sheffield Wednesday but given the home’s poor form, Millwall will get the better of the home side and return to winning ways and prove their worth on field.

PREDICTION: MILLWALL TO WIN OR BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE
